Tony Causi, a renowned restaurateur and chef, has been a pioneer in Delaware's Italian dining scene for over 30 years. Born in Palermo, Sicily, Tony discovered his passion for food at a young age, working alongside his great-grandfather, a master baker in Bagheria. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1971, Tony began his culinary career at Gino's Pizza in Lynbrook, Long Island, eventually opening his first restaurant, Dino's Pizza, in Bethpage, New York. Over the years, he expanded to six successful eateries across Long Island before bringing his expertise to Delaware.
Since moving to Delaware in 1981, Tony has owned and operated over 30 restaurants across the state, including the well-known Marina's in Wilmington. His culinary journey also includes time at prestigious New York establishments such as Villa Russo in Queens and Angelo's of Mulberry Street in Manhattan's Little Italy. Known for his exceptional Italian cuisine, Tony has served countless notable figures, from politicians to celebrities, earning widespread acclaim.
Tony's latest venture, Café SíTALY Pizzeria Sicilianu on Naamans Road, showcases his dedication to blending the rich culinary traditions of Northern Italy and Southern Sicily. Using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, Tony creates dishes that celebrate his heritage and passion for authentic Italian flavors. With plans for expansion, Café SíTALY continues Tony's legacy of delivering exceptional dining experiences.
